Kessing Adebutu’s 80th birthday yesterday at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos was the party deliberately billed and organized to shut down Lagos yesterday.
It drew the crème de la crème from all works of life-Politics, Business to the momentous occasion and talk of town.
It was double celebration, last week, for popular businessman and betting entrepreneur, Kessington Adebutu, who joined the prestigious club of octogenarians with grace.
For the Iperu Remo, Ogun State-born multi-millionaire, the momentous moment was further embellished, as he was honoured with the traditional title of Asoju Oba of Lagos by Oba Ridwan Akiolu, eight months after the death of boardroom guru and sports enthusiast, Chief Molade Okoya-Thomas.
As informed, several top personalities from all walks of life converged on the Eko Hotels and Suites, yesterday, to celebrate him. But beyond the fanfare, it was another occasion to show his sense of fellow-feeling to the less privileged via his medical outreach programme, Kessington Adebukunola Adebutu Foundation, in Iperu Remo, Ogun State. Also, he gave out eight brand new cars and other valuable gift items to loyal customers of Premier Lotto last Friday
Adebutu is one Nigerian billionaire who amassed their wealth through hardwork, resilience and uncommon vision. He came off the street and took to the sea, weathering every bad storm life has willed his ways to reach the shores of well-deserved extraordinary heights.
Others might appear to have taken the elevator while their peers were walking up much flight of stairs to reach the top, but yet that ingenuity to see opportunities where others could behold nothing cannot be taken away from him.
