Fun, laughter, more fun at Ibadan Glo comedy show

The ancient city of Ibadan was literally reeled with laughter recently, as the next generation network, Globacom, hosted its popular comedy show, Glo Laffta Fest, in the city.

Jogor Centre, Liberty Stadium Road, which hosted the show was filled to capacity with over 3,500 excited Glo subscribers who came to savour the fun. The telecoms operator ensured they were not disappointed as the artistes lined up by the company treated the guests to an unending evening of laughter and fun. Popular comedians such as Julius Agwu, Bovi, Still Ringing, Odogwu, Bow Joint, Bash, Acapella and Seyi Law got the guests laughing throughout the show.

As is customary with Glo Laffta Fest, one of the country’s leading disc jockeys, DJ Spinall,  ensured there was no dull moment as he interspersed the artistes’ performance with popular beats from his turntable.

The show also offered an opportunity to up and coming comedians within the Ibadan metropolis to showcase their talents. They used the chance well with credible performances which set the tone for the evening and whetted the appetite of the audience for the main acts.

Resourceful comedian, Bovi, who anchored the show was at his best as he spiced the  introduction of  the line up of comedians with his unique brand of comedy. The rest of the comedians also took turns to entertain and engage the audience.

There was also dancing time for the Glo subscribers with Korede Bello of Marvin Records and fuji superstar, Saheed Osupa. Korede was welcomed on stage  with a loud cheer by the audience and he duly rewarded them with a superlative performance of his hit songs including “God win”.

Saheed Osupa who performed next came with the full complement of his band to entertain the highly-elated audience. Osupa, a native of Ibadanland, was truly at home and whipped up local sentiments among the audience as his sonorous voice rang into the night. It was indeed a befitting way to draw the curtain on the six-hour-long show.

A Zonal Director of the Nigerian Communications Commission(NCC), Dr. Femi Atoyebi, who attended the show, commended Globacom for rolling out the drums and spending huge resources to delight its subscribers round the nation. He described Globacom as “the darling of the masses” which has consistently looked out for the well-being of its subscribers with its affordable and innovative products and services.

Globacom's State Manager, Oyo 1, Mr. Tunji Omoworare, urged  the subscribers to keep on using Glo as the company was committed to meeting their expectations at all times.
